Casina di Castello is a village accommodation of the kind typically found in classic hill top villages throughout Tuscany. The house is charming and neat and sleeps two to eight people if the apartments are rented together
Il Nido is tucked underneath the house and may be rented seperatly or, via a communicating door, together with the upstaris apartment to sleep another two people bringing the total to eight.
Upon your arrival you will find the house stocked with flowers, fruits and vegetable from their garden, some of their own wine and olive oil all intended for your use during your stay at La Casina.
If you would like to buy some extra farm products to take home with you Isabella will gladly provide. In fact whilst staying at La Casina you are encouraged to go over and meet the owners at their podere (Farm). Isabella is fluent in several languages and veritable fonts of local information.
They also own a renowned Etruscan tomb near to Pienza called "il romitorio" that will be open at certain hours for you to visit. The house comes equipped with mountain bikes to help you better explore the area.
ACCOMMODATION: The apartment Il Cielo is fronted straight onto the main street of the village. This is very normal in Italian villages and as Castelmuzio is such a sleepy place, traffic noises will not be intrusive. On the ground floor is a spacious entrance hall and staircase hung with restored farm implements and a collection of antique keys.
Half way up the stairs is the second bathroom with toilet, basin and a small shower. On the first floor one finds two double bedrooms, a large, modern and spacious bathroom with shower.
A sitting room with C.D./cassette player and a dining room with television and open fireplace. The kitchen, although minimal has everything one needs to prepare delicious meals and is off the dining room in an open plan arrangement. Please note there is dishwasher and washing machine.
When there are six people in the house the living room sofa unfolds to make a comfortable double bed and there is still the kitchen/dining room with fireplace to use as a communal room. The wood for the fireplace is provided free of charge.
Half way to the second floor one finds a laundry room with Ironing board, laundry sink and clothes drying rack.
On the second floor is a terrace with table and chairs for dining al frescoed or BBQ with views of the bell tower and medieval center of the village. Isabella has pots of fresh herbs growing there. One can also see through two other buildings out to the Val D'Orcia. All the windows of the house look out on to either charming vistas of the surrounding countryside or quaint views of the village.
The apartment Il Nido is located downstairs from Il Cielo and it opens on the rear overlooking the country. It has been recently restored and
comprises an open plan studio apartment with cosy kitchen,
dining area, four-poster bed, bathroom and shady private
courtyard with views through to the surrounding countryside.
The courtyard is furnished suitably for dining al frescoe.
The décor is both rustic and romantic making
Nido perfect accommodation for couples.
