Residence San Lorenzo a Linari is an ancient, medieval
monastery built on an 11th century fortress. It is the

Linari
was a medieval monastery located in the wonderful Montagnola
area 8 km southwest of Siena.  Built in the llth century,
it was converted to a grand country seat 500 years later
by renowned Sienese architect Baldassarre Peruzzi.
The present owner has transformed
the villa into 20 self-catering apartments with a luxury
spa complex.
Residence San Lorenzo a Linari is
well equipped with all the comforts of a modern and
luxury hotel whilst still maintaining the atmosphere
of the ancient medieval monastery it once was.
The cloister, the open galleries,
the chapel, the statues and the monastery's old walls
all remain echoing the prayers, peace and serenity of
it’s original inhabitants 1,000 years ago.
In 2004 Linari opened a fabulous beauty and wellness centre in the ancient cellars of the villa. The elegantly remodeled space offers; sauna, Jacuzzi, Turkish steam bath, balneothalasso and a  chromotheraputic shower as well as a wide variety of beauty treatments including; massage, facials and body treatments, manicures, shiatsu and solarium.
There is also a comfortable chill
out room where guests can gather, enjoy a drink or simply
relax. Whether you want classic Tuscan holiday of touring,
tasting and sightseeing, if you would like a complete
mind and body wellness break or if you would a mixture
of the two, Residence San Lorenzo a Linari is the perfect

ACCOMODATION: The
apartments have chestnut beam ceilings, fire places
and exposed brick work. They are furnished with antiques
and traditional Tuscan furniture. All have modern kitchens
and bathrooms, telephone, fridge, cooking facilities
and the larger ones have a dish washer. Whilst some
are more luxurious than others, they are all bright
and comfortable.
Each
apartment is individually furnished according to its
name which reflects a traditional village community,
for example; Farrier, Blacksmith, Clergyman etc.  They
vary in size and can accommodate from 2 to 8 people.
Each has it’s own private entrance, allowing guests
complete privacy.
There is a shared washing machine
for the use of guests, Euro 5 per load. An iron is available
on request. Please note that hair dryers are not provided.

THE
GARDEN AND SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT: There are
beautiful gardens planted with lavender and rosemary
and other native flora as well as BBQ facilities with
tables and chairs for dining al frescoe. The pool (14
x 9 meters or 46 x 29.5 ft.) is well furnished with
sun lounges and umbrellas and has a snack bar as well
as a paddling pool for young children. There is a ping
pong table and a tennis court with racquets and lessons
available. There are ample open spaces for rowdy ball
games.
LOCATION: Residence
San Lorenzo a Linari is in a perfect location for Tuscan
explorers, on the doorstep of Siena, in glorious countryside
and within easy reach of all the historic cities of
Tuscany.  The nearest village of San Rocco a Pilli, five
minutes drive away, is well supplied with a supermarket
and shops.
Residence San Lorenzo a Linari is near to Siena as well
as with easy reach of most important Tuscan places of
interest. The nearest airport is Florence airport which
is about one hour, Pisa is an hour and a half and Rome
2 ½ hours by car.
