Poggio
Vento is a 100+ year old farm house which together with
it's out buildings has been turned into a charming complex
of three  mini apartments and two small independent houses,
all sharing a beautiful pool and breath taking views
of the surrounding country side.
With natural stone walls, green shutters
and bright pots of geraniums the Podere is immersed
in the chain of hills that separate the Val di Chiana
from the Crete Senese. Surrounded by olive groves and
cypress trees each apartment has every thing you need
for a wonderful relaxing country holiday, surrounded
by nature.
ACCOMODATION: The
apartments have been recently restored, are neat and
clean as well as thoughtfully out fitted. They are all
slightly different one from the other and comprise either
one or 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a living room with
kitchen corner and dining area. All apartments have
access to the garden and share the swimming pool and
out door eating areas.

THE GARDEN AND SURROUNDING
LANDS: When you approach the farm house the
first sensation is of being able to breath, 580 meters
above sea level and with layer after layer of rolling
panoramas Poggio
al Vento seems to be crowning the verdant countryside
for miles around. The gardens are rustic but lovingly
cared for by Donatella whose grandparents and great
grandparents first built the house in 1871.
The pool
(6 x 12 meters) is perched on a terrace from which one
can see forever.  With in the grounds is a charming BBQ
area, well furnished for dining al fresco and out side
of the boundaries on every side spread vineyards and
olive groves that give way to areas of wild forest and
woods.
LOCATION: Poggio
al Vento is also very well located for day trips to
all the important sights of Tuscany, only 1 hour and
20 minutes from central Florence and 40 minutes from
Siena, it is also very near to Montepulciano, Pienza,
Montalcino and other wonderful places. Florence airport 1 ½ hours.
Rome airport 2 ½ hours.
OTHER FACILITIES AVAILABLE
NEAR BY: The surrounding country side is littered
with fabulous award winning restaurants, Renaissance,
Medieval and Etruscan points of interest. With in the
immediate area one also finds hot air balloon flying,
horse riding, hiking, thermal spas, art and cookery
courses,  bicycling and tennis.
Please note: This property does not
have air conditioning. Air conditioning is rarely necessary
in Tuscany due to the lack of humidity and the temperate
climate. Almost all of our properties at InTuscany are
in remodeled medieval or renaissance buildings. They
generally have very thick walls and high ceilings, most
are built on the tops of our gently rolling hills where
they catch the breezes that spring up at mid day and
in the evenings.
Generally air conditioning is only
found by the sea side or in the city centers where noise
and/or humidity make it necessary. We do not have air
conditioning in our offices or in any of our own homes.
