In the heart of Tuscany, Tenuta Il
Poggiolo is surrounded by meadows, olive groves, vineyards
and orchards. It is composed of three villas sharing
a pool, each with it’s own private garden and
BBQ area.
Only 25 km (about 15 miles) from the
center of Florence it is the perfect starting place
to visit Tuscany, it’s art and architecture.
 For
less enthusiastic culture vultures there is also the
nearby factory outlet stores where you can find fabulous
offerings by Gucci, D&G, Prada, Fendi and many others
(click
here for more information).
But what ever you would like to do
on your holiday, when you’ve had enough or just
want some down time Tenuta Il Poggiolo is also the perfect
placed to relax and enjoy a glass of Chianti wine, sun
bake by the pool or indulge in one of the many beautiful
nature walks around and near by the property.
Tenuta Il Poggiolo is located 300
meters (about 984 feet) above sea level. It is 1.8 km
(just over a mile) from the nearest village of Rufina
and is surrounded by the famous De Frescobaldi vineyards.
 There are about 300 meters (about
328 yards) of gravel road to reach the property, it
is well maintained but might be a causefor concern
if you have a very low slung sports car.
The
owner Annalisa lives close by and is always available
to help you with everything you might need during your
stay.
The three villas have been restored
taking great care with the small details, mixing valuable
(but robust) antiques with modern objects and furniture
to arrive at a pleasing and harmonious environment,
all in very good taste.
The pool (12x6m or about 39 x 19 ft)
is beautifully done in granite and tiles and is in it’s
own separate garden area and surrounded by hedges. It
is well furnished with sun lounges, umbrellas, an hammock, tables and chairs and a changingroom  with shower.
ACCOMODATION: The
villas are close one to the other but not over looking
each other to ensure privacyfor their guests.
All have central heating and independent
entrances as well as a cd player and board games. All
bedroom windows have anti mosquito screens.

LOCATION: Tenuta Il Poggiolo is near to Rufina (1.8 km or just
over a mile) as well as with easy reach of most important
Tuscan places of interest such as  Siena 80 km or about
49 miles away, Arezzo 70 km (about 43 miles). The nearest
airport is Florence 30 minutes. Pisa airport is 80 km
(49 miles) and Rome is about 3 hours by car.

NEAR BY: Rufina village is only 1,8 km away
(just over a mile), and there you can find any kind
of shops, typical restaurants, a playground, the bus
stop and the railway station that links Rufina to Florence
in 20 minutes. There are tennis courts 2 Km or slightly
more than a mile away, Horse riding 3 Km or just under
2 miles, bike riding, hiking, wine tasting, fabulous
dining, designer out let shopping just 20 minutes away,
Renaissance and medieval art and architecture in Fiesole
(10 minutes), Florence (25 km or 15 miles), Siena and
Pisa one hour away.
