Villa La Loggia comprises two luxurious
apartments in a graceful Tuscan country villa which
can be rented together as a single dwelling or separately.
Villa
La Loggia offers an enviable degree of seclusion and
the luxury of its own private swimming pool. The pool
and the surrounding garden are very well kept and completely
fenced-in. The whole property is peacefully situated
at the end of a private drive, just 800 meters or yards
from the delightful hilltop town of Montaione.
Set amongst vineyards and undulating acres of olive
groves, Villa La Loggia has been transformed into two
semi-detached cottages that would be ideal for a relaxing
Tuscan holiday whether rented separately of together.
Both cottages have their own private
patio and garden area, perfect for enjoying al fresco
meals while gazing at the panorama below. The estate
also offers a vegetable garden and orchard which provides
guests with fresh fruit and vegetables so flavorsome
they explode in your mouth. If you have only ever bought
your vegetables from the supermarket, you will be in
for an unimaginable first time experience.
The
quality of furnishings and fittings is superb, using
the best of Italian style and taste, and the spaciousness
of the apartments makes them feel morelike a home than
rental accommodation.
Please note that there is 300 meters
or yards of gravel drive to get to the property, this
will not be a problem for an ordinary car but you might
want to leave your Ferrari at home.
ACCOMODATION: Click
on the name of each apartment for more information:
- Loggia 1 (sleeps 4);
- Loggia
2 (sleeps 6).
None of the apartments at Villa La
Loggia has a land-line telephone, but the owner is happy
to lend you with a pay as you go cell phone. There are
shared laundry facilities with a small extra charge
for each load of washing payable locally.
THE
GARDEN AND SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT: Situated
at the rear of the Villa, the pool offers privacy and
wonderful views over the surrounding valleys; it is
bean shaped and measures 6 x12 meters or 19.69 x 39.37
feet. It has a lovely Jacuzzi on the side that will
soothe away the aches and pains of strenuous sight seeing
and delight young children. The whole pool is finished
with rather beautiful mosaic tiles.
There is a shared table tennis table
and a swing. The owners will rent you mountain bikes
with advance notice.
LOCATION: La Loggia
is near to Gambassi Terme in the heart of Chianti as
well as with easy reach of most important Tuscan places
of interest. Whether you want to explore north or south,
this villa has a perfect location. The nearest airport
is Florence airport (about 40 minutes) Pisa is about
an hour and Rome airports are about 2 ½ to 3
hours by car.
OTHER
FACILITIES AVAILABLE NEAR BY: The drive from
Villa La Loggia to the mediaeval towers of San Gimignano
- just 15 km - is spectacularly beautiful, and the mediaeval
hilltop town of Certaldo Alto is even closer (10 km).
Venturing further a field, the other jewels in Tuscany's
crown - Florence, Siena, Pisa - are all less than an
hour's drive, so it is location, as well as beauty,
comfort and warm hospitality, that makes this property
so special.
There is a restaurant/pizzeria 800
yards or meters from the villa (may be closed some weeks
in August). A bank, drug store, food shops, supermarket
and post office are all to be found 1 km or about ½
a mile from the property.
Golf Castelfalfi (18 holes) is 12
km or about 7 ½ miles away.
Please note that you don't need a
car to stay here, and there is a taxi service 800 yards
or meters from the villa. There are also, once a week,
guided coach excursions - with a local guide - to Siena
and San Gimignano, and onto Pisa and Lucca.
Please
note: This property does not have air conditioning.
Air conditioning is rarely necessary in Tuscany due
to the lack of humidity and the temperate climate. Almost
all of our properties at InTuscany are in remodeled
medieval or renaissance buildings. They generally have
very thick walls and high ceilings, most are built on
the tops of our gently rolling hills where they catch
the breezes that spring up at mid day and in the evenings.
Generally air conditioning is only
found by the sea side or in the city centers where noise
and/or humidity make it necessary. We do not have air
conditioning in our offices or in any of our own homes.
