As with many Tuscan estates the accommodation
at Villa La Sciolta is split between buildings. Side
by side are two large independent hunting lodges with
three smaller woodsman’s cottages tucked above
them on a higher terrace as well as owner’s own
farmhouse. Each has its own history and distinct identity.
The accommodation here is rambling and rustic, perfect
for sprawling family holidays, immersed in the chestnut
forests near to San Gimignano.
 Relax
on one of the large private terraces and at sunrise
and sunset, when all is calm, you may glimpse the deer,
rabbits and pheasants that populate the extensive grounds.The
villas are independent, finely restructured and comfortably
furnished: everything is at the disposal of couples,
families or large groups of friends to while away wonderful
weeks of vacation.
The property is managed by the Morelli
family who are lovers of nature. They look after the
guests as well as traditional agricultural activities,
such as the production of olive-oil, wine, the produce
of the kitchen-garden and orchards as well as bottling
and preserving their produce.
The property extends for 150 hectares
(about 370 acres) much of it undisturbed luxuriant Mediterranean
woods. There live pheasants, hares, porcupines, rabbits,
dears and other species of wild a nimals.

Thanks to its central position in the heart of Tuscany, between Florence (55 km) and Siena (50 km) the farm holiday accommodation Fattoria La Sciolta is perfectly located to visit all the main cultural sites of interests and cities of arts such as San Gimignano, Volterra, Certaldo, and San Miniato or Pisa and Lucca as far as the Tyrrhenian coast which can be easily reached in less than 1 hour driving.
 Staying inside this uncontaminated countryside full of ancient and undiscovered tradition is very easy to enjoy eno-gastronomic itineraries to discover the tastes and typical products of the original and generous Tuscan tradition. The management is familiar and the owners are always available and present to solve their guests’ need and requests.
The farm produces biologic extra virgin olive oil made with cold – press strictly following the genuine Tuscan tradition and the owners will be pleased to show you the production according to the season.
The three villas can be rented separately – weekly rental from Saturday to Saturday or B&B, according to the season - or it is possible to rent the whole farm together with the two pools, the wide and well kept green spaces which are surrounded by a 150 ha. faunistic reserve even if not far from markets and services centre (3 km), 18 holes Golf (10 km), SPA (3 km) airport (55 km).
 The houses are suitable rented independently,
and as a group would be a wonderful place to have a
family reunion.
LOCATION: La Sciolta
is ideally located for exploring all of Tuscany. The local town of Gambassi Terme is only 3 km away and has all
necessary services as well as a thermal spa famous for
its curative powers that have attracted travellers since
Etruscan times.
True culture and history seekers can
expand their knowledge of Tuscany with trips to nearby
Certaldo and San Gimignano, whilst Florence, Pisa, Siena
and the fashionable Tyrrenian coast are only an hour
or less away.
Other nearby towns of special interest
include Volterra and Vinci, birthplace of Leonardo.
The nearest airport is Florence (1 hour)
and then Pisa (1 hour and 20 minutes) or Rome (3 ½ hours).
 HISTORY: Villa La Sciolta was built at the beginning of the 1900’s by a Swiss lady who knew how to match a northern construction style with traditional Tuscan brickwork, making a structure that is delightfully unique. It was later used as a fashionable hunting lodge by the airman Vasco Magrini and Benito Mussolini, then sold to the famous family of the Finzi Contini it became their library where the family members spent their time reading in complete privacy and quiet. Since 1954 it has been the property of the Morelli family and they adapted it to be a perfect place to welcome their clients.
