Lovingly restored to its original 18th century Leopoldine Villa design, the 3-star Hotel Le Capanne offers a harmonious blend of rustic architectural features and stylish modern comforts. Surrounded by the farmland of the Chiana Valley, on the outskirts of Arezzo, it guarantees utmost tranquillity and privacy, as well as unspoilt views. This is also the scenic backdrop to the lovely open-air pool.  Traditional Tuscan specialities can be enjoyed in the hotel’s cosy, welcoming restaurant.
The striking yellow-washed walls of the main 2-storey building contrast with the exposed stonework of the adjoining annexe, all recently faithfully restored to their original 1700’s style. Great care has been taken to preserve many other authentic details of the interiors, such as attractive sweeping brick archways; wood-beamed and terracotta-tiled ceilings; stone or tiled floors; low-framed wooden doors; and colour-washed walls.
There are many different accommodation categories to choose from, all with ultra-modern ensuite bathrooms, as also a variety of opportunities for both outdoor and indoor relaxation or dining in comfort. These include two spacious lounges, both with fireplaces, a library/TV room and a large café/bar area, complete with billiard table. 
An extensive loggia provides welcome shade for summertime buffet-breakfasting, while a delightful lawn in front of the restaurant, encircled by three ancient walnut trees, accommodates tables and sunshades for al fresco dining. Drinks and snacks may also be savoured on the veranda of the hotel’s open-air bar. A Multi-Media Room, providing computers with Broadband Internet access and printers, is available for the use of all hotel guests.
ACCOMMODATION: All bedrooms/suites in the main house are located on the first floor, accessible by lift or stairs. They are all equipped with safe; mini-bar; hairdrier; independent air-conditioning; Sat.TV; Internet connection; independent lighting/heating card. Category of rooms available:
DOUBLE BEDROOMS: double bed; modern ensuite bathroom with shower.
 DOUBLE BEDROOM WITH LOGGIA: large double room with double bed; large modern ensuite bathroom with spacious shower cubicle. The beautiful covered balcony looks out southwards to the front of the hotel, across its gardens, the farmland beyond and the Apennine hills to the east.
ATTIC BEDROOM: situated directly under the roof and accessed via a narrow, wooden, spiral staircase. Comprising a double bed and a large, ultra-modern bathtub with jacuzzi-jets, positioned open-plan at the bedhead, partitioned by a dividing glass panel. Separate washbasin out of view round a corner. Ensuite toilet and bidet. Internal wooden steps lead up to an attic-window.
STANDARD JUNIOR SUITES (some are slightly bigger than others): double bed and single sofa-bed; modern ensuite bathroom with bathtub and shower.
 JUNIOR SUITES (larger than Standard Junior Suites): double bed, with two extra single sofa-beds; large ensuite bathroom with bathtub and shower. Some Junior Suites have a separate single-bedded room leading off internally from the main bedroom, for use by a child or as a study.
The ground-floor hotel annexe, adjoining the main building, houses the following:
STUDIO SUITES (various sizes): mini-apartments, consisting of a small kitchen-corner and sitting area with single or double sofa-bed downstairs; and a mezzanine level (accessed by a central staircase), with double bed. French doors lead to a ground-floor patio.
FAMILY SUITE: in a sunny spot facing to the front of the house, this is ideal for a family or anybody with walking difficulties. Comprising two spacious, self-contained double bedrooms, separated from each other by a central hallway. A large modern  bathroom, with bathtub and shower, leads off this hallway.
RESTAURANT “LOCANDA DEI PILLI”: Serving evening meals, with additional lunches on Sundays and public holidays, the on-site restaurant “Locanda dei Pilli” has three distinct dining-areas, which can cater for intimate private dinners, as well as for receptions on a grand scale. Located in the former stalls and stables, now fully refurbished, it preserves some of their original historic features, such as the old stone and wood feeding troughs; the stone floors and exposed stonework walls. Its menu offers a wide selection of typical Tuscan dishes, including home-made pasta and grilled meats, accompanied by an extensive range of the best local and regional wines.
THE GARDEN AND SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT: From the hotel entrance gates, a gravel driveway leads round to a secluded parking area, reserved for the  exclusive use of hotel guests. It also takes you through lawns dotted with olive trees up to hotel reception. An ancient, covered-in well supplies all the water for the estate, while brightly planted flowerbeds border the hotel’s tiled patio-surround.
To one side of the house, paved terracing and lawns for sunbathing extend round the pool, all securely fenced-in and sheltered by trees. A final special touch is added to this idyllic setting by the surrounding grain and sunflower fields, together with the outline of gentle wooded hills on the horizon.
LOCATION: The hotel is ideally situated in the midst of the peaceful countryside just 5kms from Arezzo’s historic town centre. The Arezzo Equestrian Centre is within walking distance (400 metres) and there is also a golf course nearby. The A1 Florence-Rome motorway exit for Arezzo is only a short drive away (5 kms).
Arezzo itself is a charming hilltop town of Etruscan origin and its San Francesco  Basilica is home to the celebrated 15th century fresco-cycle “The Legend of the True Cross” by Piero della Francesca.
This uncommercialized centre makes a perfect base for exploring Tuscany’s cultural and scenic heritage, with Florence, Siena, Cortona, Pienza, Montalcino and Montepulciano all easy day-trip destinations. Both the forested Casentino hills and the Apennine range to the north of Arezzo afford spectacular walking opportunities.
