THE GARDEN AND SURROUNDING
ENVIRONMENT: There is a large elegant swimming
pool (14 x 6 meters or 45.93 x 19.69 ft) well furnished
with sun lounges and with breath taking views. The gardens
are planted with local flora, Cyprus, olive trees, lavender
and rosemary and are well maintained.
LOCATION: Hotel Rotelle is near to Torrita di Siena and Montepulciano
as well as with easy reach of most important Tuscan
places of interest. The nearest airport is Florence
airport, about 1 ½ hours. Pisa is about 2 hours
and Rome airports are both about 2 ½ hours drive.
 ABOUT THE REGION: The Hotel Rotelle is situated on a hill in the Valdichiana
Senese region, overlooking a splendid valley. It’s
strategic position between Firenze, Arezzo, Cortona,
Perugia, Trasimeno Lake, and Amiata Mountain means there
is so much to do and see in the region that you will
be stuck for choice and making a list of all the things
you didn’t have time to see for your next trip.
Local distances: Siena, home to the
famous Palio held bi-annually in July and August. However,
its beautiful monuments, such as the Duomo, Palazzo
Piccolomini, the Basilica of San Domenico and the Piazza
del Campo are also well worth a look. 50 km or about
30 miles.
Montepulciano, famous worldwide for
producing wines such as the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
and the Rosso di Montepulciano. Many of the wine producers
are open to the public for tours. 10 km or about  6 miles.
Pienza, is a small, typically Tuscan,
town that is famous for producing the Pecorino di Pienza
cheese. 12 km or about 7 ½ miles. Montalcino,
well-known for producing the acclaimed Brunello di Montalcino.
The view from the town is also stunning and is a great
destination for a relaxing day out. 25 km or about 15
½ miles.
