Lose yourself in the wondrous history
and culture, in the medieval hill towns, in the typical
country cuisine. Find yourself relaxing at the pool,
gazing at the breathtaking views. Colle delle Querce
is positioned on a hillside overlooking unspoiled Umbrian
countryside with a lovely view of Todi and the Tiber
river below.
It
consists of two renovated stone farm houses separated
by a courtyard, on 7 ½ hectares (about 18 acres)
of land that contains a pool, a small vineyard, over
500 olive trees, a 40-tree fruit orchard, a large vegetable
garden and a small forest.
The nearest village, a 15 minute walk
along a country lane, is a tiny cluster of houses. Todi
is about 15 minutes by car. All around are forests,
farms, and other country estates. There are a number
of walking trails that take you through the surrounding
area.
ACCOMMODATION: The
stone houses have been carefully restored and decorated
in the authentic Umbrian style with exposed beams, terra
cotta floors and lovely antique country furniture. At
the same time, all modern comforts and conveniences
have been installed.
All
rooms, and the swimming pool, provide both wired and
wireless connections to the Internet. We offer two types
of accommodations: a detached two-floor cottage located
in its own park (Casa Oliveto), and independent studios
(2) located in Casa Vigneto. They can be rented separately
or together.
Casa Oliveto: This is a fully independent,
140 m2 (1,500 ft2) self-catering two-floor cottage enclosed
in its own grounds. Downstairs, there is a living/dining
room, complete kitchen, a half bathroom and a laundry/utility
area with a washer and dryer. The living room has a
double sofa bed.
Upstairs are two large bedrooms, each
with a private bathroom.
Casa Vigneto: There are two independent,
self-catering studios, one located on the first floor,
and the other on the ground floor. The latter is wheelchair-friendly
and fully meets all disabled clients’ requirements.
Both studios have a private entrance, double bed, private
bathroom and kitchenette.
The wine cantina is located in the
Casa Vigneto. Also, the owners are usually present in
their own separate quarters in the Casa Vigneto.
Accommodation Notes:
- This is a smoke-free environment,
other than at designated areas.
- Small animals may be considered on a case-by-case
basis.
- The owners are fluent in English and Italian, and
speak some French.
Pool:
The pool (7 x 15 meters) overlooks
the countryside and Todi. It is nestled between the
olive grove and the fruit tree orchard, along side the
vineyard.
Vegetable Garden:
Fresh vegetables in season are available
for guests.
For wine enthusiasts, we have a small
winery and wine museum. Visits and wine tasting can
be arranged. Organic products, such as olive oil and
marmalade, can be acquired here.
Home-cooked Meals:
On request, arrangements can be made
with local farmers' wives to prepare meals.
Hiking and Countryside Walks:
There are numerous footpaths and country
lanes for touring the surrounding area.
