La
Busterna is a 15th century building restored in 2000.
It’s ancient stone façade has been steeped
in Tuscan sunsets for over 400 years. Huge ancient oak
trees shading the house enrich the spacious garden. The terrace is a delight. From the swimming pool one
can enjoy the same fantastic views.
Inside the rooms are luxuriously spacious
with high ceilings and ample proportions. La Busterna
has been furnished with a wonderful mix of antiques
and modern pieces and really feels like a private luxury
designer holiday home rather than a run of the mill
rental.
This is a house for dreaming, for
relaxing and for re charging.
La Busterna has a telephone extension
in each bedroom, a hairdryer in each bathroom, a bathroom
for every bedroom and a designer kitchen with cooker
and oven, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. It also has
a washing machine, iron and iron board, television in
the living room and video recorder (on request). The
beds are comfortable and capacious with 100% pure cotton
sheets and towels. The baker passes each morning in
his van with bread still hot from the oven.You’ll
be in the lap of luxury and never want to go home.
ACCOMODATION: The internal living space comprises 570 m² (or
6135 sq.ft.) as
well as large well furnished out door areas for relaxing
and dining al fresco.

Dining room with direct access to the garden. Sitting/TV
room with large fireplace. Kitchen connected with the
dining room. The kitchen has a stove, oven, dishwasher
and fridge. A glass staircase leads to the first floor.
Half bath. One bedroom with queen size bed with en-suite
bathroom with bathtub and hand shower and direct access
to the garden with screened door. One bedroom with two
adult sized single beds, with en-suite bathroom and
shower and direct access to the garden by a screened
door. A bedroom with two single adult sized beds on
a mezzanine balcony and a sofa on the ground floor,
en-suite bathroom with shower.
First floor: One bedroom with queen
size bed with sofa, en-suite bathroom with shower. Two
bedrooms with two adult sized single beds, one with
an en-suite bathroom with shower and one with an en-suite
bathroom with bathtub and hand shower. Both these rooms
have direct access to the patio from screened doors.

Please note that this villa
does not have air conditioning, due to the high altitude
and thick walls
of the villa it is simply not necessary.
La Busterna is a part of Spineto di
Tenuta which is a sweeping 830 hectare (2051 acre) estate
with 11 gracious and completely independent Tuscan hill

The whole complex is managed from
an ancient 13th century abbey that has been immaculately
restored including the chapel and refectory.
With in the estate are approximately
70 km of private roads, framed by verdant valleys, a
small lake, wooded hills and cultivated fields. The
villas are secluded one from the other, each in an isolated
position that guarantees complete privacy and tranquility.
Each is replete with stunning
views, many guests never leave the estate during their
stay, passing the time swimming, horse riding, walking,
fishing and relaxing. On the edge of the vast nature
reserve that makes the Val D’Orcia a perfect spot
for nature lovers. Spineto is also a great location
from which to explore Tuscany and Umbria, it is with
in easy reach of most well known tourist destinations
in Southern and Mid Tuscany and also many more off the
beaten track.
The
owners are from a noble Italian family and have sent
there grown up children to be educated in the United
States. They have been in the industry for many years
and know more than a thing or two about creating the
perfect holiday. They can provide you with many services
and advantages not found in normal rental villas; child
friendly fishing, fitness facilities, disabled facilities,
concierge services, guided tours, transfers, catering,
mountain bike rentals, E-mail, fax, internet, transfers,
rent-a-cars, on going hotels, restaurant bookings, tickets,
24 hour emergency assistance and taxi reservations,
in fact full concierge services, normally only found
in luxury hotels.
Services include; The daily maid service (2 hours),
gardening, daily pool cleaning and a change of linen
twice a week. You can also request; use of the abbey
sauna and gym, baby sitting and extra maid service,
in house catering.

LOCATION: Tenuta di Spineto is near to Sarteano as well as with
easy reach of most important Tuscan places of interest. The
nearest airports are Rome; both Ciampino and Fiumicino,
and Florence, all under two hours by car.
Tenuta di Spineto is located, between
Monte Cetona and the National Park of the Val d'Orcia,
it is three miles to Sarteano where there are shops,
restaurants and a bank, and a short driving distance
to Chiusi, a larger commercial centre and railway station.
The estate is central to the zone
encompassing Orvieto, Arezzo, Cortona, Perugia, Florence
and Siena, with Rome, Lucca and Pisa being more distant
but easily reached for a day's outing. The wine and
art towns of southern Tuscany - Pienza, Montalcino,
Montepulciano are nearby, as are Lakes Trasimeno and
Bolsena.
Both Rome and Florence can be reached
in about 90 minutes by car and one hour by train from
Chiusi. The countryside between Sarteano and Radicofani
is dotted with monasteries and castles, and the Val
d'Orcia itself is a spectacular natural and cultural
attraction, made famous by Iris Origo's excellent book,
"War in Val d'Orcia. A diary." (Cape, 1947
and reprinted many times since).
Please note that it is a 20 minute
drive from the main gate to the villa along a well maintained
gravel drive. Whilst this would be fine for an ordinary
sedan, you may want to leave your Ferrari in the garage
for this trip.
