The two places that you chose for us were both superb
and very well suited to our needs.
Le Rocca in Monterchi was very special
in its situation and spectacular views, and we also
had a very good week there. Donatella was a charming
and gracious hostess who allowed us to use the garden
and pool area of the Palazzo as well, and gave us a
very interesting tour of the Palazzo Marzochi.
Thanks very much for your help –
we’ll be back to Tuscany soon, and will be sure
to tell our friends about the service we received from

Dear Manola,
We had a wonderful time! We arrived
in pouring rain and the second day was cloudy but after
that it was brilliant sunshine and we were able to travel
around Tuscany and Umbria and loved it. La Rocca was
a wonderful find - in such a great position and full
of good taste and character. We ate outside every day
and it was so peaceful and with stunning views.
Donatella was vibrant and welcoming
- and very caring.
Thank you for all your help. It was
certainly one of the best holidays I have had.

Thanks for the welcome back e-mail.
We have been home for 2 weeks now and are most happy
to pass on a few of our thoughts.
After spending our 1st week in a superb
villa near Lucca, we hoped that we would be as happy
at La Rocca. We could not believe our good fortune to
find that it far outweighed our expectations. La Rocca’s
setting in Monterchi could not have been more picturesque.
The house and the gardens were just fabulous. Then there
was the added bonus of having such a fabulous hostess
as Donatella and her mother, Victoria. Donatella went
out of her way to make our stay memorable--- she took
us into Arezzo to let us visit a jewellery factory and
then invited us into the main home’s garden to
have a Tuscan feast that was prepared for a T.V. filming
that took place while we were there.
I can not think of one bad thing to
report. Our group was just rapt in La Rocca and Monterchi.
If anything I guess we feel that the internet blurb
on La Rocca understates its beauty and situation.
Finally, Jane, one of our group, is
a professional artist and looks forward to staging an
exhibition in the future which attempts to capture the
magic of La Rocca and the surrounding area.
