A Classic, sprawling Tuscan farm house
with gorgeous views, perfect for extended family gatherings
or group holidays.
L’Occaiolo
is a 19th century building restored in 1999. The owners
live and work in a 13th century Abbey near by. The large
house is surrounded by silent woods and horse paddocks.
The privacy of the garden and the swimming pool are
protected by ancient trees giving pleasant shade during
the day and, thanks to very clever lighting, an enchanting
atmosphere during the night.
The very spacious and refined house
interior, offers a surprising combination of old fashion
and contemporary design. Two fireplaces in two separate
living spaces suitable for reading and relaxing mean
that the house is very well suited for extended groups
of family, friends or colleagues.
The furnishings are at once elegant
and robust, the house has been carefully furnished to
really feel like a private, luxury, designer holiday
home, rather than a rental villa.
L’Occaiolo has a telephone extension
in each bedroom, a hairdryer in each bathroom, a bathroom
for every bedroom and a designer kitchen with cooker
and oven, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. It also has
a washing machine, iron and iron board, television in
the living room and video recorder (on request). The
beds are comfortable and capacious with 100% pure cotton
sheets and towels. The baker passes each morning in
his van with bread still hot from the oven. You’ll
be in the lap of luxury and never want to go home.

4844 sq.ft.) as well as large well furnished out door

THE
ESTATE: L’Occaiolo is a part of Spineto
di Tenuta which is a sweeping 830 hectare (2051 acre)
estate with 11 gracious and completely independent Tuscan
hill houses. The houses are kilometers apart and very
private one from the other, (click
here) to get an idea of the whole estate and
the distances involved. If you’d like to review
the other villas on the estate (click

The whole complex is managed from
an ancient 13th century abbey that has been immaculately
restored including the chapel and refectory.
With in the estate are approximately
70 km of private roads, framed by verdant valleys, a
small lake, wooded hills and cultivated fields. The
villas are secluded one from the other, each in an isolated
position that guarantees complete privacy and tranquility.
Each is replete with stunning views,
many guests never leave the estate during their stay,
passing the time swimming, horse riding, walking, fishing
and relaxing. On the edge of the vast nature reserve
that makes the Val D’Orcia a perfect spot for
nature lovers. Spineto is also a great location from
which to explore Tuscany and Umbria, it is with in easy
reach of most well known tourist destinations in Southern
and Mid Tuscany and also many more off the beaten track.
The
owners are from a noble Italian family and have sent
there grown up children to be educated in the United
States. They have been in the industry for many years
and know more than a thing or two about creating the

easy reach of most important Tuscan places of interest.
The nearest airports are Rome; both Ciampino and Fiumicino,
and Florence, all under two hours by car.
Tenuta di Spineto is located, between
Monte Cetona and the National Park of the Val d'Orcia,
it is three miles to Sarteano where there are shops,
restaurants and a bank, and a short driving distance
to Chiusi, a larger commercial centre and railway station.
The estate is central to the zone
encompassing Orvieto, Arezzo, Cortona, Perugia, Florence

attraction, made famous by Iris Origo's excellent book,
"War in Val d'Orcia. A diary." (Cape, 1947
and reprinted many times since).
Please note that it is a 2 minute
