Single family independent villa from
the 1850’s situated in a charming village.
L’Antica Sosta is in the small
and charming village of Renai, 3 km or about 1 ½
miles from Castelfiorentino. The villa is encircled
by vineyards and olive groves.
 The
owner Vincenzo realised the restoration work completely
by hand in order to safeguard the architectural integrity
of the structure which was originally an old hayloft.
He recycled old materials when ever possible taking
a lot of time and care. Then he furnished it with Rustic
antiques to further reinforce the villas timeless feel.
This is a perfect place to savour
the country’s comforting peace and tranquillity,
far away from stress and tension of the city you will
completely relax and unwind.The dining room has been
recuperated from what was once the stables and wagon
room. The open fire place, originally used for shoeing
horses is all fashioned from hand made bricks.
A wide corridor, leads us to the
kitchen which is a faithful reconstruction of the old
kitchens found in traditional Tuscan farmhouses, with
its stone sink chiselled by hand. The 5 bedrooms are
wide and airy, simple in their elegant order, graced
with bright windows, each framing wonderful views of
the undulating countryside. One bedroom on the ground
floor has been designed with handicapped facilities.
 The 3 bathrooms, with bathtub or shower, are enriched
by lively colours and Vietri’s hand painted tiles.
There
is a panoramic terrace, well equipped for dining al
fresco. Far from luminous pollution of the big city
you will be able to enjoy a simple but exciting show,
like a starry sky or a full moon. The owners are at
your disposal and can cook traditional meals for you
using the produce of their gardens, orchards, vinyard
and olive grove, they can also organise cooking courses
and show you how to make Tuscan bread or pizza in the
original wood fired bread oven.
Mountain bike rentals are also available.
ACCOMODATION: Ground
floor: The dining room with an antique wood table (seats
12 people), sofa, armchairs, an original hearth composed
by handmade bricks, a traditional sideboard , TV-sat,
a large and very bright corridor, in which you can findHi-Fi stereo and the door to the downstairs  bedroom.
The Kitchen: well equipped, with original
stone link, working fireplace, oven, dishwasher, fridge,
freezer, and a nice marble table. A laundry with washing
machine. A bathroom with shower.
The
down stairs bedroom has the magic colours of coral with
a well restored wardrobe, 2 bedside tables and a sofa.
The stone stairway leads upstairs which has 4 bedrooms
and 2 bathrooms (one with shower and one with tub)
- a double bedroom, enriched by a
picture of Michelangelo like bed head, an old English
wardrobe with a mirror, an antique chest of drawers,
2 bedside tables and a sofa.
- a twin bedroom from which you can admire starry sky,
with a very pretty writing desk, a chair, a hand-painted
wardrobe and 2 bedside tables.
- a double bedroom with brought iron
bed head, a nice wardrobe, a chest of  drawers, a large
mirror and a pretty chair, 2 bedside tables and a sofa.
- a very romantic double/twin bedroom,
that has a sunny picture like bed head, a sofa, a wardrobe
and 2 bedside tables from the 19th century.
There is a hair dryer but no phone. Guests may use the
pay phone in the village and there is good reception
for your own cell phone.
THE
GARDEN AND SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT: From the
garden, there are wonderful views of the Tuscan hills
and enchanting sunsets, in the complete silence that
only the country can offer, broken only by the sounds
of nature.
The pool is 5 x 10 meters or 16.4
x 32.8 ft and also has fantastic views.
LOCATION: Villa Antica
Sosta is near to San Gimignano as well as with easy
reach of most important Tuscan places of interest.  The
nearest airport is Florence airport about 35 minutes.
Pisa is just over an hour and Rome airports are about
three hours away
L’Antica Sosta is situated in

is a train station.
From there it is only 40 minutes the
centre of Firenze, Pisa e Siena. The railway service
is good; there are trains every hour and at all hours.

FACILITIES AVAILABLE NEAR BY: In Castelfiorentino
you can find what ever you need, such as: railway station,
supermarkets, banks, post office, chemists, hospital
all kind of stores, gyms, beauty centres, library, cinema,
theatre, antique churches and museums.
L’Antica Sosta is situated in
a strategic position to reach the most beautiful art
cities in Tuscany. It is particularly interesting to
visit the medieval villages around Siena, like Monteriggioni,
Pienza and Montalcino, not only for their artistic value
but also  for their gastronomic specialities.
You can drive to Tirrenia coast and
you can go until Versilia, where you can find amusements,
bars, pubs, restaurants and discos and above all you
can enjoy the famous Tuscan Riviera. In the little towns
in the vicinity of Castelfiorentino, from May to October,
there are many village feasts where you can find antique
markets and stalls selling the gastronomic specialitys
of Tuscany.
Please note: This property does not
have air conditioning. Air conditioning is rarely necessary
in Tuscany due to the lack of humidity and the temperate
climate. Almost all of our properties at InTuscany are
in remodeled medieval or renaissance buildings. They
generally have very thick walls and high ceilings, most
are built on the tops of our gently rolling hills where
they catch the breezes that spring up at mid day and
in the evenings.
Generally air conditioning is only
found by the sea side or in the city centers where noise
and/or humidity make it necessary. We do not have air
conditioning in our offices or in any of our own homes.
