Classic ancient farm house, newly
renovated. Dream holiday home of English couple. Fabulous
views.
 Villa Colle Bianco is the dream vacation
home of Kathleen and Richard. It sits on a hilltop with
gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside.
The
farm was divided into three units and Villa Colle Bianco
is the larger one. The other two units can accommodate
a maximum of 8 people total.
Totally renovated in 2002, the villa
has rustic charm but clean lines and contemporary amenities:
four bedrooms, three and a half baths, a modern kitchen,
large, loft living and dining spaces, a covered terrace,
and a stunningly beautiful pool.
Villa Colle Bianco sleeps eight people.
It is ideally suited for four couples or families  with
older children.
ACCOMODATION: The
main house has an open plan lofted living and dining
room with arched doors that lead on one side to a covered
terrace with a panoramic view and on the other to a
charming courtyard. Tucked under the stairs is a convenient
half bathroom.
The
living room has sprawling sofas, a C.D. player and an
open fire place. The kitchen has marble topped counters,
a toaster oven, expresso machine, dishwasher, four burner
cook top and oven. There are French doors that lead
to the out door eating area with fantastic views.
The heating is all under the floor.
There are two master bedrooms. One
is in the main house and the other is located across
the courtyard in an independent building. Each has its
own bathroom.
 There are two further double bedrooms
in the main house that share a full bath.
The house has been carefully furnished
to provide every thing necessary for a relaxed carefree
holiday and the view from every window is magnificent.
At
Colle Bianco all the windows have insect screens and
all bedrooms have over head ceiling fans.
Please note
that this property does not have air conditioning.Air
conditioning is rarely necessary in Tuscany due to the
lack of humidity and the temperate climate. Colle Bianco
is in a remodeled but very old building. It has very
thick walls and high ceilings, and is built on the tops
of a gently rolling hill where it catches the breezes
that spring up at mid day and in the evenings.
 Please note that there is no television
at this property or telephone but there is good reception
for cell phones.
THE GARDEN AND SURROUNDING
ENVIRONMENT: The villa is surrounded with the
most wonderful 360 degree panoramic view. One looks
out over endless rolling hills with olive groves and
fields. The pool is perfectly positioned, especially
at sun set when it becomes infused with a magical golden
light. Please note that the pool is shared with the
owners of the 2 apartments in the property. The
garden is very cleverly lit for night time and has rustic
flower beds, planted out with Lavender, Sage, Rosemary,
Olive trees and laurel hedges as well as other native
plants.
Please
note that there is about 2 kilometers (just over a mile)
of  dirt road very well maintained to reach the villa.
LOCATION: Located
45 minutes from Siena, 5 km from the village ofSan
Giovanni d'Asso (of white truffle fame) even closer
to the small hamlet of Chiusure, near Brunello wine
country, it's ideally located for relaxing in the beauty
of the countryside or for day trips to Cortona, Perugia,
Montepulciano, Pienza, San Gimignano, or the other quaint
hill towns for which Tuscany is treasured.
Florence is one and a half hours,
Siena is 45 minutes and Rome is two and half hours by
car.
OTHER
FACILITIES AVAILABLE NEAR BY: The towns and
villages in our area have different market days throughout
the week. Our favourite is Siena on Wednesday mornings,
where year-round you can buy anything from  house wares
and linens to shoes and clothes, produce, and freshly
roasted pork.
Near by you can
also find tennis, horse riding, bike riding, hiking,
wine tasting, fabulous dining, thermal spas, Hot air
balloon flying, designer out let shopping, Etruscan
ruins and Renaissance and medieval art and architecture.
