Villa Gaiole is a venerable farmhouse belonging to the 11th century. The interior was reconstructed in the 1600’s by the Baroni Ricasoli family, owners at that time of nearly every castle between Siena and Florence, in the heart of the Chianti region. Located nearby the Meleto Castle, its historical original structure, details and distinctive charm have been faithfully maintained throughout the centuries.
 Certain rooms of the villa still contain the original brick floors in Tuscan terracotta and wooden beamed ceilings. The villa has been restored preserving some of the original features as a huge fireplace which used to heating the whole house, one of the rooms served as desiccation place for the vine grapes when making the Vin Santo.
Part of the residence was an old tower used to guard the Castle, also built around the year1000 by the Papal State. Villa Gaiole with its wide open spaces and manicured gardens is all about charm and history and will provide an unforgettable experience.
ACCOMMODATION: The villa offers three large living and entertainment one of them accommodates a large dining table for 14 people that can be used for breakfasts, lunches and dinners.  Here you can find an old brick oven and an ancient brick warming facility where water for personal use was heated. This room opens onto a veranda ideal for al fresco dining. The villa has a spacious, fully equipped kitchen and TV room from where you can access to a small gallery of antiques and arts of the Tuscan Countryside.
The second living room is situated on the opposite side of the dining hall and can be used for relaxing, reading, listening to music and connecting to the internet. A splendid staircase in “pietra serena” (Sienese sandstone) leads to the third living room, hosting a sitting area with a huge fireplace giving entry to the bedrooms.
UPPER FLOOR: One twin bedded room (it can become double); One twin bedded room; One bathroom (with shower only) shared by the two twin bedded rooms. One double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (tub and shower);  One double bedroom with a four poster bed with ensuite bathroom (shower only); One double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (tub and shower); One queen bedroom in the mansard (accessible by a steep wooden ladder). It shares the bathroom of one of the other double bedrooms.
LOWER FLOOR: One charming decorated twin bedded room with independent direct access to the lower floor bathroom.
THE GARDEN AND SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT: The villa is surrounded by a garden of 12,000 square meters, with ample lawn and many varieties of fruit trees, bordered by a small running brook. The swimming pool was constructed recently and measures 5 meters x 10 meters.
 It is equipped with a BBQ and an eating area in the veranda, just outside the dining room.
LOCATION: Located at only 1 km from Gaiole in Chianti, you will have the opportunity to visit the whole Chianti area immersed in its vineyards and olive trees. Florence is 60 km away and you can reach Siena with an easy drive of 27 km.
