Independent villa with swimming pool
and tennis court for 4 people in the North of Tuscany-
Versilia- close to Lucca. 10 minutes from the beach.
Right
in the heart of Versilia which inspired Puccini’s
melodies, in the marina of Pietra Santa. Villa I Gelsomini
was once the agricultural out buildings that served
a grand and noble villa.Today it has been tastefully
restored and transformed into an original and beautiful
accommodation, perfect for a classic Tuscan holiday.
Although this villa is only a short
walk from the beach, it’s grounds and pool are
such a delight that it will be hard to tear your self
away.
Please note that Villa Gelsomini is
only a few meters from the owners villa, but each has
his own private entrance, drive way and gardens. The
pool and tennis court are exclusively for your use when
there. One villa does not over look the other and the
owners are very respectful of their guests privacy.
ACCOMODATION: The
property is on two floors:
The
park gives direct access to a bright living room in
warm pastel colours with comfortable sofas and chairs,
TV and stereo CD; the kitchenette is fully equipped
with dishwasher, microwave and espresso coffee maker.
A service bathroom (with washbasin and toilet) is also
on this floor.
The wide windows of the living room
face the charming portico just in front of the swimming
pool, where there is another outside kitchen, with a
barbecue, a wood-fired oven, an ancient washbasin and
a large white Carrara marble table. It is ideal for
splendid and romantic dinners.
An easy stair leads from the living
room to the first floor, where there is a nice double
bedroom (whose double bed can be split into two twin
beds on request), another bright double bedroom with
balcony, table and chairs, offering a charming view
of the swimming pool and park, as well as a modern bathroom
with shower.
The
house is furnished with elegant simplicity and the vast
outdoor area gives the opportunity of spending whole
days outside in complete privacy and relaxation. The charming landlady receives her
guests with a homely welcome and a light dinner. On request, dinners can be served
under the portico or around the swimming pool. A mobile phone, embroidered towels,
pool towels and breakfast (supplied but not served)
complete the picture.
THE GARDEN AND SURROUNDING
ENVIRONMENT: Just inside the gate, which faces
the white Apuan Alps, the leafy, splendid and huge park
(35.000 sqm or nearly 9 acres) is breathtaking.
Here, among the vast marquis of pines
and holm-oaks, thrive hundreds of Mediterranean flowers,
which the landlady personally tends and which, magically,
start blooming in February thanks to the mild micro
climate.
Set
amongst the greenery, the fabulous swimming pool seems
seasonless as well and is open all year round. This
pool is really a cut above the ordinary, lined in tiny
mosaic tiles and with the most wonderful out look. You
will find it hard to leave it long enough to do your
sight seeing.
Finally, the private tennis court
and the five-a-side football field allow ample opportunity
to burn off all the delicious bowls of pasta that you
will no doubt be indulging in.
