Villa Gloria is perfect for relaxed
extended family groups or two families on holidays together.
It is very well located for all important tourist destinations.
 Built
in the 18th century Villa Gloria was originally renovated
from the old servants quarters that served the main
villa some distance away, the villa actually comprises
two complete apartments that are always rented together
as one unit. Other than the kitchen, Villa Gloria has
not been renovated any time recently but it is clean
and comfortable with every thing necessary including
the odd antique piece, a very lovely pool and beautiful
views.
ACCOMODATION: One
approaches by a short flight of steps to a small loggia
with two front doors. The front door opens to a long
hall way, off which can be found a large brand new eat
in kitchen with marble counters, stove, oven, fridge
and dishwasher. Next down the hall is a lounge room
furnished with comfortable, sprawling furniture and
satellite television. Then two bedrooms each with Queen
sized beds and a bathroom with bath tub, hand shower
and washing machine.
Returning
along the hall way and back out to the small loggia
one can open the  other front door that leads to two
bedrooms, one with a Queen sized bed and one with two
single beds, a bathroom with bath tub and hand shower
and an eat in kitchen with stove top, oven and fridge.
Across the drive from the loggia
is a large out door but undercover eating area with
built in BBQ, grill and wood burning pizza oven. The
villa also boasts insect screens on all the windows.
Please note that the villa does not
have a fixed telephone. However there is good mobile/cell
phone reception and so guests with out their own mobile
phones may borrow one from the owner by leaving a deposit
against it's loss or damage.
THE
GARDEN AND SURROUNDING ESTATE: The Villa is
approached by a gravel drive way and there is ample
parking. One passes the main villa, some times inhabited
by the owners who live half the year in America and
half the year in Italy, they have two grown sons.  The
grounds are beautifully kept and there are lovely flower
beds, lavender bushes, fig trees and green lawns giving
way to Olive groves and orchards. The pool is set a
little away from the house and was installed in 2002,
it has a peaceful, tranquil setting surrounded by carefully
tended garden.
LOCATION: Villa
Gloria is walking distance from Lucignano which is a
beautiful example of an early medieval town and boasts
several restaurants, banks and shops. By car; Cortona
is 15 minutes, 20 to Arezzo or Montepulciano; 45 to
Siena and one hour to Florence. Although immersed in
peace and quiet, the autostrada is just 15 minutes drive
connecting you to al important tourist destinations
and the rest of Europe.
The
closest airport is Florence (about 1 ½ hours)
and Rome airport is about 2 ¾ hours by car.

 Please note: This property does not
have air conditioning. Air conditioning is rarely necessary
in Tuscany due to the lack of humidity and the temperate
climate. Almost all of our properties at InTuscany are
in remodeled medieval or renaissance buildings. They
generally have very thick walls and high ceilings, most
are built on the tops of our gently rolling hills where
they catch the breezes that spring up at mid day and
in the evenings.
Generally air conditioning is only
found by the sea side or in the city centers where noise
and/or humidity make it necessary. We do not have air
conditioning in our offices or in any of our own homes.
