antique villa which is both close to Florence and immersed
in tranquility.
Villa Il Turco is an elegant, aristocratic,
sixteenth-century country estate which once belonged
to a noble family named Rosselli Del Turco.
Complete
with vaulted ceilings downstairs and chestnut coffered
ones upstairs, stables, a pigeon loft and a graceful
loggia on the second floor, this villa is like some
thing out of a period movie. Not only will it delight
you but it also can provide the perfect staging point
for exploring all the most important sights in Tuscany
as well as those more off the beaten track.
Thanks to its valuable 18th- and 19th-century
antique furnishings and its proximity to Florence (only

art lovers who wish to relax in a historical environment.
Original frescoes and wooden coffered ceilings help
to give you the feeling that you have stepped back into
the annals of time.
Although it enjoys absolute seclusion,
the villa is part of an active farm which produces Chianti

kilometer (under a mile) of gravel road to get to the
villa. Whilst an ordinary sedan wouldn’t have
a problem with this, you might want to leave the Ferrari
at home for this trip.
Please note:
This property does not have air conditioning. Air conditioning
is rarely necessary in Tuscany due to the lack of humidity
and the temperate climate. Almost all of our properties
at InTuscany are in remodeled medieval or renaissance
buildings. They generally have very thick walls and
high ceilings, most are built on the tops of our gently
rolling hills where they catch the breezes that spring
up at mid day and in the evenings.
Generally
air conditioning is only found by the sea side or in
the city centers where noise and/or humidity make it
necessary. We do not have air conditioning in our offices
or in any of our own homes.
