Villa La Castellaccia has been classified,by Tuscany Region, as "Residenza d'Epoca" which is equivalent to "National Trust" or "Heritage Grading".
 Villa La Castellaccia is situated on the gentle slopes of the Tiber valley between Tuscany and Umbria. Elegant but comfortable, guests may have a taste of life as it once was whilst still enjoying modern comforts. This villa is set in a mythical medieval back drop.

They lovingly restored the villa in 1995 to make a perfect holiday destination for people who would like to experience rural Tuscany in true style.
Villa is dated from 1614 is furnished with fine antiques and elegantly upholstered soft furnishings. With it’s high ceilings and wall frescoes you will be transported back into another era.The peace, quiet and serenity of the beautiful countryside is immediately evident.  Children are welcome.
ACCOMMODATION: Accommodate 6 + 1 persons. The villa is divided into two wings, one incorporates the main villa and the other the owners residence and with a separate entrance The main villa comes equipped with Satellite Television in multiple languages, stereo, video-recorder,dvd-reader, telephone and fax (extra),Internet modem connexion (extra). On the ground floor it comprises; entrance living room, dining room and kitchenette (4 hotplates, oven, dishwasher, deep freezer). Upstairs; large living room,a double bedroom with a third bed, and en suite bathroom with shower, another double bedroom and a room with a French bed, suitable for one adult, two children or one couple very much in love.There is another bathroom with a bath tub. The living room is a wonderful gallery with frescos. antique furniture and family portraits. Evocative private, consecrate chapel.
 THE GARDEN AND SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT: The Villa is surrounded by a beautiful 2000sqm park. It is completely fenced and has a lovely 18th century wrought iron gate, cunningly operated by remote control. The gate is always closed for privacy. There is no common area shared between guests and owners, each has their own garden.
The lighted swimming pool is 5 meters by 10 meters and has panoramic views of Sansepolcro valley (birthplace of Piero della Francesca) and the "Alpe della Luna" mountains. Near to the swimming pool is a pool house with comfortable changing room, toilet and wash hand basin. On the outside is a hot water shower. It is exclusively for the guests of the main villa and well furnished with lounges etc.

The Montedoglio Lake, located only 5 minutes away is wonderful for sailing, canoeing and windsurfing.
 Horse riding: A riding school is also only 5 minutes away.
Trekking: Hiking enthusiasts can walk for hundreds of miles on unspoiled mountain trails, with breathtaking views at every bend of the path.
Thermal spa: 15 kilometres away.
The nearest town is Sansepolcro, 4km where you can find: a restaurant, pharmacy, butcher, green grocer, baker, florist, newsagent, supermarket, bar, post office, bank, chemist, clothing, small antique shops and hairdresser.
300 meters from the villa is a small general store that is also open on Sundays.
LOCATION: Villa La Castellaccia is very close to Anghiari, Caprese Michelangelo (The Artist's Birthplace) and Monterchi, towns of artistic and historical interest.They all boast a great number of excellent and traditional Tuscan restaurants for all tastes. 
Arezzo, Cortona, Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia, Spoleto and Urbino are all about one hour in the car, each with unique artistic treasures, Etruscan ruins, fabulous restaurants, shopping and other sight seeing . Florence, Siena and the Republic of S.Marino are one and half hours by car, as is the Rimini Coast for trips to the beach and wonderful seafood meals.
The nearest airport is Florence (1 ½ hours), Bologna (1 ½ hours), Rome and Pisa airports are both about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Please note: This property does not have air conditioning. Air conditioning is rarely necessary in Tuscany due to the lack of humidity and the temperate climate. Almost all of our properties at InTuscany are in remodeled medieval or renaissance buildings. They generally have very thick walls and high ceilings, most are built on the tops of our gently rolling hills where they catch the breezes that spring up at mid day and in the evenings.
Generally air conditioning is only found by the sea side or in the city centers where noise and/or humidity make it necessary. We do not have air conditioning in our offices or in any of our own homes.
