“Poggio de La Bruna - Muccianello”
is an ancient hayloft that has been restored using the
services of a well known Italian architect making this
villa both sophisticated and rustic.
 It
is part of an ancient rural farm complex, with the two
owners occupying the other buildings.
“Poggio de La Bruna - Muccianello”
is surrounded on all sides by the green hills of Mugello,
an area where the environment is carefully protected.
The country side has remained almost unchanged for over
a millennium. It is easy today to see how 700 years
ago the surrounding landscape influenced Giotto, the
father of modern art, who was born nearby.
The owners have restored the villa
paying special attention to the original features of
the structure and reusing natural materials; therefore,
precious woods such as elm and handmade terracotta tiles
were used to lay the floors and natural marbles such
as travertine were chosen as lining for the bathrooms.
The furniture of the rooms is a clever
and pleasant mix of old Tuscan and modern Italian styles.  The
interiors are well furnished with the latest high-tech
appliances and all necessary facilities: 4 television
sets with satellite connection, dishwasher, microwave
oven and traditional oven, burglar alarm system, safe,
antique fireplace, telephone washing machine and dryer
as well as air conditioning in two of the bedrooms.
It is worth pointing out that dryers and air conditioning
are very rarely found in Tuscan villas.
On request daily cleaning and cooking
or a tourist guide can be arranged.
Please note that there is 200 meters
or yards of gravel drive to reach the villa. This would
not present a problem for an ordinary sedan car but
you might want to leave your Ferrari at home.
ACCOMODATION: On
the ground floor there is the living room with fireplace,
the dining room, the kitchen, a study with two large
sliding doors and a sofa bed, a bathroom and the laundry.
 An unusual staircase leads to the
first floor, where there is a twin room and a bathroom,
a TV area and the master suite made up of a dressing
room, a bathroom and a bedroom. All the bathrooms are
equipped with the most modern facilities.
THE GARDEN AND SURROUNDING
ENVIRONMENT: The garden, exclusively for the
use of guests, was created by using the local flora,
typical of the Mugello hills.
It hosts a swimming pool (12 x 6 meters
or 39.36 x 19.69 ft) with a characteristic water fountain
and plenty of sun lounges. The garden and pool are maintained
on a daily basis by the staff.
There is also a covered barbecue area
with a table seating 6 and private parking for a maximum
of 3 cars.
 LOCATION: Villa Muccianello is near to Florence (35 kilometers
or about 22 miles) as well as with easy reach of most
important Tuscan places of interest. The nearest airport
is Florence airport, about ½ and hour. Pisa is
about an hour and Rome airports are from 2 ½
to 3 hours drive.

is 4 km or about 2 ½ miles from the train station
at Vicchio where trains can take you to the city center
of Florence in only 30 minutes; the golf court is 10
km or just over 6 miles away and Lake Bilancino with
surfing and sailing facilities is 14 km or just under
9 miles. There is horse riding-ground is only 5 km or
3 miles away.
The villa is also near to modern shopping
centers and the hospital, which are only a few minutes'
drive away.
