Villa Orizzonte Blu is a secluded,
elegant farmhouse perched on a hillside about two and
a half miles above Monterosso. Unobstructed views of
the sea and sky create a fabulous holiday environment.
Villa Orizzonte Blu dominates the
bay of Monterosso and was originally a hermitage which
dates back as far as 1200. It
was later turned into a parsonage.  With advance request
guests may stll visit the original 12th century chapel
that is attached to the farmhouse. The setting is perfect
for very romantic weddings with elegant receptions taking
place in the surrounding gardens.
Villa Orizzonte Blu has splendid surroundings
and unique views which make it a perfect holiday setting
for extended families or groups of friends who wish
to tour the Cinque Terre and to enjoy the peace and
relaxation of a Ligurian beach holiday. The trains
run from the village up and down the coast on a regular
basis.
You have a reserved
car park in the near by village of Monterosso therefore you can be at the
sea side in a few minutes with a sure place to leave
the car. At Monterosso is a beautiful sandy beach with
sun lounges and umbrellas for hire.
The owners take particular care of
their guests, providing you with a small welcoming buffet
on arrival. You can sip a glass of wine taking in your
first sunsetwith  the wonderful views spread out all
around and then stroll into the ancient cloister court
yard for a taste of the local specialties and the holiday
ahead.Despite
the wealth of things to do and see, you might find that
you can’t tear your self away from a comfy lounger
and the amazing views.
The villa has been tastefully furnished
with the highest quality antiques and fabrics, all in
a sympathetic rustic style that is elegant but also
child friendly. There is a good variety of both indoor
and outdoor living spaces so that every one can enjoy
privacy and relaxation.
This villa has not only been carefully
and tastefully furnished with marble bathrooms, rare
antique pieces, and beautiful fabrics but also the spectacular
views from almost every room. This villa is a cut above normal holiday
rental accommodation in the area. Many of it’s
guests return year after year.
ACCOMODATION:The
villa is divided into two separate wings that are united
by internal covered courtyard.It can sleep up to 9
people in 2 double bedrooms, 2 twin bedrooms, 1 single
bedroom and 4 bathrooms.
 Entering the main wing of the house
there is a living room with a fireplace, TV sat, VCR,
CD player and internet access as well as a dining room
that seats up to 12 people. The living room leads into a large,
fully equipped country style kitchen with dishwasher,
washing machine, microwave, American coffee maker, espresso
maker and toaster. Just off the courtyard there is a
bedroom with a shower.
Upstairs
are more bedrooms and bathrooms and also another living
room that has a sofa bed for an extra two people in
emergency situations or for two children.
Special dinners can be arranged upon
request in the garden by a local chef. A two hour daily
maid service is included in the price.
THE GARDEN AND SURROUNDING
ENVIRONMENT: Villa Orizzonte Blu issurrounded
by a beautiful outdoor garden which is equipped with
elegant and comfortable garden furniture as well as
a BBQ.
The internal courtyard is a particularly
enjoyable place for dining al fresco.  The views of the
ocean dominate the villa from all the windows and any
point in the garden.
The meticulously maintained terraced lawns of this villa afford many opportunities for leisurely relaxation and al fresco dining in front of a breathtaking scenery.
These impeccably landscaped gardens are particularly noteworthy, as is the out of sight of the house position of the delightful swimming pool which opens on the lower lawn terrace to best take advantage of this paradise and it shares with you the silence and the spectacular views.
Monterosso, the nearest village
is about 3 kilometers (under 2 miles) away and in the
village is a reserved parking space for villa guests
(something very hard to come by). For
those who prefer not to drive the bus stop is only about
700 yards or meters away just in front of one of the
local restaurants.

Blu is at Cinque Terra near to Monterosso which is a
large village with resteraunts, banks and shops as well
as a train station  connecting you to the rest of Cinque
Terra and greater Tuscany.
The Villa is with easy reach of most
important Tuscan places of interest. The nearest airports
are Pisa and Genoa which are both about an hour.Florence
airport is an hour and 45 minutes and milano-Linate
2 ½ hours away.

Please note: This property does not
have air conditioning. Air conditioning is rarely necessary
in Tuscany due to the lack of humidity and the temperate
climate. Almost all of our properties at InTuscany are
in remodeled medieval or renaissance buildings. They
generally have very thick walls and high ceilings, most
are built on the tops of our gently rolling hills where
they catch the breezes that spring up at mid day and
in the evenings.
Generally air conditioning is only
found by the sea side at sea level or in the city centers
where noise and/or humidity make it necessary. We do
not have air conditioning in our offices or in any of
our own homes.
