This charming cottage would be perfect
for small families or two couples traveling together.
 It
shares it’s garden (3 acres) and swimming pool
(12 x 6 meters or about 39 ½ by 19 ½ feet)
with a larger villa that sleeps six in the same estate
but other wise is completely private. It’s owner
is a charming Florentine with fluent English and a complete
understanding of what hospitality really means. Il Poggino
has every thing necessary for a really perfect Tuscan
holiday.
ACCOMODATION: One
enters the villa into a large open plan living and dining
room with the kitchen at one end. The living room has
a stereo with CD player and a television with video
recorder and satellite programming in multiple languages.
The kitchen comes equipped with Microwave, Toaster,
Kettle, American style coffee machine, oven, medium
sized fridge with freezer and food processor.
To either side of the kitchen are
doors leading to double bedrooms, each with bath room
on suite. The larger bathroom contains a washing machine
and ironing facilities.
 There
is no fixed line telephone at Il Poggino how ever Marino
(the owner) can provide you with a mobile phone for
use during your stay for a small fee. There is also
good reception for your own mobile phone.
This is one of our few properties
with air conditioning.
THE GARDEN: Il Poggino
and the other larger villa in the same estate (Villa
I poggi) are completely enclosed by high walls or
cliffs and encircled by park land (approximately 1.3
hectares or about 3 acres ) with green lawns, mature
trees, garden beds and a charming pine grove where you
could enjoy shady picnics.
The pool (12 x 6 meters or about 39
½ by 19 ½ feet) is a total delight, heated,
with hydro massage, children's pool and play area. It
is well furnished with good quality lounges and other
pool furniture. The views are simply stunning and take
in both Lago di Chiusi and Lago Trasimeno.
 Please
note that unless you rent both properties you could
be dividing the grounds and pool with the guests at
I Poggi, however, both properties are quite private
one from the other except for in the pool area which
is well away from both.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD: The
Villa is located 15 minutes drive from Chiusi train
station and also from the A 1 Autostrada (Chiusi - Chianciano
Terme exit) and only 5 minutes from ancient Etruscan
Chiusi downtown. Chiusi is a very strategic point: one
hour from Rome and Florence (by train, Chiusi station
has free, safe street parking) , with in easy reach
of Siena, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi and many typical small
hill towns such as Pienza, Montepulciano, Cetona, Cortona,
Trasimeno Lake and Montalcino. With in a week you will
never be able to see and do every thing and will be
making a list for your next trip.
LOCATION: Villa Il
Poggino is near to Chiusi as well as with easy reach
of most important Tuscan places of interest. It is also
more than suited for forays into Umbria. The nearest
airport is Florence airport (under 2 hours in the car)
and Rome (just over 2 hours in the car)
