Villa Troni is a delightful Casina,
or small house, in the hills of Chianti, very near to
Florence.
It
was originally a hay barn and is constructed on three
levels of stone and brick. With panoramic views of the
Apennine mountains and the night time lights of Florence,
this villa can provide a perfect, classic, Tuscan holiday.
The owners produce their own wine
and would be delighted to let you taste it, perhaps
takeing a taste of Tuscany home with you.
ACCOMODATION: One
enters the property through large automatic gates and
there is parking for several cars. Up a short flight
of garden stairs is the pool (4 x 8m or about 13 x 26
feet) with it’s covered out door eating and BBQ
area.
On this level you enter the house
and find the living room that has Satellite Television
in multiple languages and comfortable sprawling sofas.
Down a flight of stairs is the kitchen with open plan
dining room, microwave oven, cook top and fridge (please
note no dishwasher).
Down
another flight of stairs and along a passage way are
three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two bedrooms have
en suite shower rooms and a third has it’s bathroom
across the hall but it is larger and has a bath tub.
On this level is also a separate laundry room with a
washing machine and ironing facilities.
Although it is partially below ground
level there is no feeling that this lowest level of
the house is a cellar or basement, the split level nature
of the villa is due to the slope of the hill on which
it is built.
This villa has a hairdryer but no
telephone although there is good reception for guests
own cell phones. This is very simple rustic accommodation
but with everything necessary for a wonderful holiday.
THE GARDEN AND SURROUNDING
ENVIRONMENT: It is important to note that the
outdoor eating and BBQ area is a flight of stairs away
from the kitchen, however when you are there the views
are stupendous (There are also views from nearly every
window in the house). The garden is plain and simple
with gravel, paving and lawn areas. All around are olive
groves and woods and the sensation of being immersed
in the country side.
Guests
should also know that young children do need to be supervised
in the pool and garden area. As well as the danger presented
by the pool it’s self there are 2 meter (about
6 foot) drops around the far border.
There is a small bed and breakfast
(with out pool) next door if your party is larger than
the given accommodation. Guests there would not be in
any way intrusive, they can’t overlook the garden
or pool. Otherwise the villa is totally isolated.
The road goes past the house, but
it is only for local access and not a through road.
It is quite a narrow and nervous drivers should take
note that some corners require a honk of the horn to
alert on coming traffic.
LOCATION: Villa
Troni is near to Florence as well as with easy reach
of most important Tuscan places of interest. The nearest
airport is Florence airport (about 40 minutes by car).
Pisa airport is about one hour and 20 minutes and Rome
airports are both about 3 hours away.
OTHER
FACILITIES AVAILABLE NEAR BY: Tennis, golf,
